Here are my 2 entries for Mojo Monday 220.  I couldn't decide which one to enter so entered both.

The glitter on the "Surprise" card is a little difficult to see.  The background is embossed with a flower background.  The flower and the sentiment are mounted on foam to make it more 3-d.

The 2nd card is more masculine.  The sentiment is on vellum with a block paper background underneath.  The die cut is from the Cricut cartridge Lyrical Letters.

This is my entry for the Mojo Monday 219.  This is my first time entering your contest.  So any feedback would be appreciated.

There is humor in this Friendship Card and a Friendship Card is always in season.

The paper is Colorbok - Bright.  The sentiment is a clear stamp.  Used some rhinestones to jazz up the flowers and sanded and inked edges.

Thanks for looking.  Please feel free to join my blog as well.  I am so enjoying all of yours.

Tortilla Soup...

The other day, I was at a luncheon with some girlfriends and the topic of Tortilla Soup came up.  We all agreed that the "so-called Tortilla Soup" served at most Mexican Restaurants leaves a lot to be desired.  I had a large bowl for $5.00 at this one restaurant and honestly I couldn't believe what they called Tortilla Soup.  It was definitely a great disappointment.  It was so bad, I felt like getting up and going to the kitchen to teach them how to make a "real" tortilla soup.

Here is my recipe for Chicken Tortilla Soup sure to be a hearty satisfying meal and experience.

chopped celery, chopped onion, minced garlic - saute in olive oil.
Add:
- leftover chicken or cook up some chicken breast, chopped into bite size pieces
- 1 can small green chilies [not necessary to drain]
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
- corn kernels [frozen or canned]
- 1 can fire roasted or diced tomatoes
- 1 carton chicken broth [my favorite is Swanson]

Now; bring to a boil and simmer until done.  Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream, and grated cheese.  Also, a chopped fresh avocado added to a bowl is nice if you have it.

Enjoy!!

Pictures of the word BELIEVE...

Well, I finished the small banner.  I already had the letters made and they were paper blocks.  I removed the letters from the blocks and turned them into a banner.  Here are some pictures to give you the idea.

The Word Believe...

Today I am working on the word "BELIEVE" as a banner to hang on the fireplace underneath the Manger Scene as part of my Christmas decorations.  Most people use the word believe for Santa Claus.  I don't, I use it for Jesus because HE is the reason for the season.  When I get it finished I will post it.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Lin and I live in the Mohave Desert.  My husband and I just love it.

I love to craft in my craft room--paper is mostly my thing; although I do sew as well.  I love to browse the net and "CASE" other's great ideas and make them my own.  So if you see something that looks familiar--you'll know why; and Thank you so much.

I love butterflies because they symbolize new birth in Jesus Christ.  I also love flowers--however, roses are my least favorite.  My most favorite flower is a carnation or a bouquet of them is even better!

I am new to this blogging thing so bear with me.  As time goes by I hope to be able to personalize this site more.  I am learning.  The primary reason for setting up a blog is so that I can enter some contests.  If you wish to comment on my blog please keep it clean--no swear words, and most of all please do not use God's name in any of your entries.  Thank you.
